Carbon1.0 OG

Carbon1.0 OG

Carbon copy? Not a chance…
The Carbon1.0 OG marks Apiar’s entry into the sports-watch category and is believed to be the world’s first commercially available watch to use Composite-Based Additive Manufacturing (CBAM). Combining a CBAM carbon-fibre outer case with a mediablasted Grade 23 titanium core, it introduces a distinct approach to composite watch case construction. Lightweight, versatile and unmistakably stealthy...

After launch, the Carbon1.0 OG will be available to order until end of October, after which the OG edition will not be made again!

Shipping Details

Our Availability Commitment:

  • The Carbon1.0 OG will not be limited by production numbers. Instead, orders will remain open for a 6–8-week window, allowing collectors to secure the original expression of Apiar’s new carbon sports-watch platform. Once the window closes, the OG batch will enter manufacture, leading the way for future Carbon1.0 variants exploring new materials, colours and finishes. But this will always be the OG batch.
  • Apiar manufactures watches to order, and we work to a 4-6 month delivery time. We are trying to increase the stock of components, to reduce this lead time.
  • As our watches are made to order, we do not offer refunds once your watch has entered the manufacturing phase.

UK Customers

  • For our UK customers, your purchase price will include UK VAT to be paid.

EU Customers

  • For our EU customers, we've tweaked the pricing so that you won't get hit with UK VAT (20%) on your order. When it comes to these EU orders, we're doing things on a DDU (Delivery Duty Unpaid) basis. Put simply, this means you'll need to handle the local duties and taxes before receiving your Gen1.0.

International Customers (Including USA)

  • As for EU customers, you will not pay UK VAT (20%) on your order. Since all orders are shipped from the UK, there's a chance that import duties or taxes may come into play. With these international orders, we're using a DDU (Delivery Duty Unpaid) setup. Put simply, this means that any remaining import duties, clearance fees, brokerage fees, or any other extra charges are the responsibility of the customer and will need to be settled upon delivery.

Carbon Without Limits

The carbon-composite outer case is produced using CBAM, building a complex geometry that would be impossible to create through conventional forged-carbon manufacturing. This freedom allows the case to form an open structure around the Grade 23 titanium core, with skeletonised lugs and precisely positioned windows revealing the metal beneath. Unlike the mottled, moulded forms associated with forged carbon, CBAM creates an entirely new carbon architecture with visible directional layers. The manufacturing process does not simply produce the case, it defines its structure and identity.

Built Impossible

At the centre of the Carbon1.0 is a Grade 23 titanium midcase, additively manufactured using Laser Powder Bed Fusion. Around it, the CBAM carbon-composite case forms a complex, open geometry. Together, these two cutting-edge additive technologies combine the strength and precision of titanium with the lightness and geometric freedom of carbon fibre.

Layered by Design

The black anodised aluminium dial carries the logic of the CBAM process from the case onto the face of the watch. Its fragmented surface is CNC machined using a 0.6 mm end mill. The pattern of broken, overlapping lines echoes the non-continuous carbon strands within the case, translating its layered construction into the dial’s visual structure. Around its edge, hour markers formed directly within the Grade 23 titanium midcase slope down towards the dial. Sandblasted hands and light blue Swiss Super-LumiNova complete the connection between the dial, titanium core and carbon exterior.

Built British

The UK is full of amazing manufacturers. We have built a supply chain that means we build the bulk of our components at home – and assemble everything in the UK, too. Our first watches were around 75% British-made and the number is even higher today. We are working towards 100%.

Apex Additive

Apex Additive Technologies

Apex prints our titanium cases using laser powder bed fusion, a process reserved for rockets and high performance automotive. If it’s good enough for NASA and Bugatti, it’s good enough for us. Together, we build geometries no traditional method could ever reach.

Silvey Engineering

Silvey Engineering

Silvey uses advanced 5-axis CNC machining to transform our printed titanium into functioning watch cases, cutting waterproof sealing surfaces, press-fit grooves, and bezel interfaces to micron precision.

Bedford Dials

Bedford Dials

A family-run business with centuries of watchmaking heritage, Bedford Dials brings precision and tradition to every crystal. They pad print our numerals and markers on the underside of the sapphire, making the details appear to float above the dial. It’s subtle. Technical. And perfectly executed.
